Introduction
Thanksgiving Day is a special occasion that is highly celebrated in the United States and Canada. It is a day to express gratitude for the blessings of the year and to celebrate with family and friends. In my English class, my teacher Ms. Burton gave us an opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving Day in a unique way. In this article, I will share my experience regarding how we celebrated Thanksgiving Day in my English class. The Preparation
Two weeks before Thanksgiving Day, Ms. Burton informed us that our final project for the semester would be a PowerPoint presentation about Thanksgiving Day. She divided our class into groups of four students each and assigned a different topic for each group. The topics included the history of Thanksgiving, traditional foods, Thanksgiving Day parade, and contemporary celebrations. My group was assigned the topic of \"Thanksgiving Day Parade.\" We researched the history and significance of the Thanksgiving Day parade, famous parades in different cities, and unique aspects of each parade. We also created a PowerPoint presentation with pictures and charts to explain our findings.
The Celebration
On the day of the celebration, we all brought traditional Thanksgiving foods to share with our classmates. There were dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. We all gathered in the classroom, set up tables, and enjoyed the delicious feast together. After the feast, each group presented their PowerPoint presentation. We learned a lot about the history and traditions of Thanksgiving, and how it is celebrated differently in different parts of the country. Ms. Burton also surprised us with a game of \"Thanksgiving Day Trivia.\" She divided us into two teams, and we had to answer questions related to Thanksgiving Day. The team with the most correct answers won a box of chocolates. Conclusion
The Thanksgiving Day celebration in my English class was a unique opportunity to learn about American culture and traditions. It was also a time to express gratitude for the blessings of the year and to share joy with our classmates. I am grateful to Ms. Burton for organizing this celebration, and for making our English class a fun and enriching experience.
